In the real estate industry, your business is only as strong as your client satisfaction! So what can you do to bolster your communication with clients to give them the best experience you can offer?

Show Compassion

As a professional in the real estate field, you’re likely to come across repeated instances of certain situations over the years, whether it be common bumps on the road to closing or the nervous jitters of a first-time homebuyer. However, it is important to keep in mind that your clients have hired you because they don’t have you experience or expertise, so it’s understandable for them to get overwhelmed sometimes. Put yourself in their position and ask yourself “What would make me feel more at ease in this situation?” Then do your best to reassure and guide them through the home buying or selling process.

Honesty is the Best Policy

With so many different people working together towards a common goal, even as changes are constantly being made within the industry, hiccups can happen. If you hit a setback, don’t avoid your client—seek them out and explain the situation. Your client’s trust is what is most important—without it, you can’t guarantee they will refer or utilize your services again. If an issue even has a chance of arising, let them know so they are prepared and knowledgeable about the situation rather than blindsided.

Be Socially Savvy

With so many millennials entering the housing market, prospective clients prefer to communicate in a new variety of ways, not just by phone or email. Don’t be afraid to send a quick text or make your professional business accessible on on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. At the same time, make sure to weigh your content and outreach messaging fairly. You don’t want your messages to drive prospective or even current clients away because you’re following up on your 6th unanswered text at 10PM.
