Looking to tidy up your child’s room?
Trying to keep a child’s room neat and organized is surely one of the greatest challenges when there is a lack of storage space. It’s important to keep these rooms tidy when you put your home on the market for sale. Here is how you can make the best use of space.
Walls: Lining the top of your child’s bedroom walls with shelves, and placing items up high will take up less floor space. Plus, this is a great space to show off the more delicate décor and still be seen. Pegs are another excellent way to use wall space, not to mention young children will enjoy hanging up jackets, hats and other items on the pegs.
Doors: Shoe organizers with clear plastic pockets make for storage containers for most toy items. So don’t overlook any available space on the back of bedroom or closet doors. This also allows for out of sight items, so keeps the room looking tidy!
Beds: Consider buying a platform bed with built-in drawers to store toys or bulky clothing, or raise your child’s existing bed frame and use under-the-bed storage boxes to hold out-of-season clothes or books. If you have two children sharing a room, a bunk bed can also be used to free up floor space.
Double-duty Furniture: Using furniture that serves more than one purpose increases storage and frees up space in the bedroom. Benches with hinged tops can be used for storing toys, or extra linens. Chests that can be opened to store items can also be used as chairs or tables.
Baskets: Grouping baskets in a corner or along a wall to drop toys makes the less cluttered. And it also makes a stylish décor for aesthetic purposes. Don’t count out the cuteness of a room either!
