Many sellers fall under the misconception that the sale of their home mostly hinges on how they present its interior. Though internal features are important, there are a few other elements to consider as well that could help lock in that offer.

Have information readily available – Don’t wait for prospective buyers to ask you for any documents like appraisals or home history. Go above and beyond by laying out items, information, common questions and what you feel is necessary for others to know up front. This way, any concerns are addressed before reaching a conclusion.

Move the car – Allow potential buyers to view the home with their car outside of it! Moving yours may enhance their imaginations while giving them more room to look at the outside of the home. This is especially important if you do not have much room dedicated to parking in the first place! If a realtor has to tug buyers on a half mile walk, you’ve just made your first impression.

Be open – Remember, negotiation is part of the process and sometimes can even play out in your favor too! Listening and considering any alterations to a contract doesn’t mean you have to agree to them, but refusing them altogether could cost you the entire sale.
